Symes first ever bus was this 1941 V8 engines Ford bodied by Watts of Brisbane. Fred Symes used it to transport workers from Tingha and Inverell to the Howell Mine during the fifties. Ultimately it was sold, but rediscovered in 1997 and restored by Symes Bus Service. It is seen here in its current home, appropriately, the National Transport Museum in Inverell.

In June 2021 the Dineen Group acquired Symes Coaches, later in the year taking over the another local operator, Inverell Bus Service. On this visit in January 2024 work was in progress to consolidate the two operations at Inverell's space. This 2012 Fuso Rosa, 9611MO, available for self drive, is seen in the new shed recently built to accommodate the extra vehicles. The Inverell and Symes fleets are now part of the Cavgroup under Cavanaghs at Kempsey and at least one Rosa had been painted in their colours,
