Transperth Mercedes Citaro fuel cell bus ECOBUS 1
When a number of Mercedes Citaro based fuel cells entered trial across Europe around 2003, Transperth had one of these experimental buses too registered ECOBUS 1. It is seen here heading for Wellington Street Bus Station from the east side in April 2006.

What became of the ECOBUS? It was donated to the Bus Preservation Society of Western Australia and is seen squeezed into a space at their Whiteman Park workshops. Mercedes did however repatriate all the vital running parts to Germany.
