Brampton Transit Leyland Olympian ECW 8500
Probably long before Go Transit even thought about buying Alexander Dennis Enviro500 doubledeckers, Brampton acquired this very English ECW bodied Leyland Olympian. It was new in 1985 to Gray Line in Victoria, BC, for tourist work, joining many secondhand British buses so deployed. Brampton acquired it four years later, though it is not known why it fell out of favour in Victoria. Certainly when seen in 2007 it was out of use in Brampton and had been used latterly as a novelty feature taking part in parades and similar community events. In 2012 it joined the many Routemasters with Ambassatours owned Double Deck Tours at Niagara Tours. By 2016 it had been rendered topless on passing to Bus & Boat Tours in Toronto.

Parked in the depot yard amongst other laid up buses it was not possible to get a decent picture of Olympian 8500, but as this view shows, it had dual door bodywork.

The interior reflects the British fifty shades of brown styling favoured in the eighties.
