There is no more beautiful spot in Holland than the harbour at Hoorn, particularly when graced by an open top PD2!

The Massey bodied Titan appears to belong to an Amsterdam radio station and was on a 'jolly' one Saturday May morning in Hoorn. And talking of horns, it had been retrofitted with one that appeared to have been reclaimed from a North Sea lighthouse!

Not surviving in quite such fine fettle is this former Newport Corporation Alexander bodied Leyland Atlantean believed to have been 96 (PDW96H). It was a short walk from Amstel station and attempting, in its new role, to do competition with the local MacDonalds!

An interesting Beuk vehicle with a UK connection is this open top ex London DMS, now registered 00-96-HA. It is thought to be former DM1111 (GHV111N) which saw service in open top form - and blue livery - with Cityrama in London for ten years after leaving London Transport.

Seen in the centre of Amsterdam in August 2006 is former London Routemaster RM43, also converted to open top in a "sardine can" fashion. It is promoting Baba, which is not a chain of hairdressers, but more the sort of Amsterdam Coffee Shop where - like the bus - you are likely to emerge "half cut"! |
