Newbury & District Leyland Tiger ECW 169
Former South Midland Leyland Tiger PS1/1 38 (LWL995) was rebodied with an ECW Queen Mary style of body and transferred to the Newbury & District fleet as 169 in 1950 shortly after both fleets had passed to Thames Valley's control. The Tiger chassis was lengthened in the rebodying process and the vehicle sat 37, though this was later reduced to 34. The origin of the photo is unknown, but is believed to be an official company shot.

Thames Valley Guy Arab
This 1950 Guy Arab, 170 (FMO515), was delivered to N&D in the year that Thames Valley took charge of the company. It is seen at Newbury still in the mid sixties sporting its typical Red & White" style lowbridge Duple doubledeck body.

Thames Valley Guy Arab
More of a problem for Thames Valley were a number of highbridge Arab/Duples of which H10 (FMO517) is one, also seen at Newbury Wharf. Unfortunately light got into the camera, so the image has had to be digitally rendered in the top left corner.

Thames Valley / Newbury & District AEC Regal I Duple
Former Newbury 138 (FMO327) was delivered new in 1947 as part of a small batch of AEC Regal I buses with Duple bus bodies. It is seen at Newbury Wharf with other ex N&D buses and a typical Thames Valley Bristol L with ECW bus body. The picture is of unknown origin.

Thames Valley Guy Arab III Duple H16
Delivered to the associated Venture of Basingstoke in 1950 as 106 (HOT394) the bus was later transferred to Newbury and became H16 with Thames Valley. We do not know how we came by this image and apologise if there is any copyright infringment.
