Preserved RT4712 (NXP997) from the London Transport Museum collection was specially painted to commemorate Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee in 2002. Operated on the Museum's behalf by Arriva it appeared on various London bus routes, special Golden Jubilee Tours and - of course - at the Golden Jubilee display at SHOWBUS international 2002.

The bus is seen here in the line up after the Gold Run from Cambridge's Trumpington Park & Ride. |
The RT was parked between Arriva's well turned out RM6 (VLT6) and Metrobus' East Lancs bodied Olympian S850DGX which in later life became opentopper OT1 (98-C-42747) with Bus Eireann.

Gold RT4712 made an appearance at Covent Garden on the occasion of the Museum's sale of the second set of four EFE Golden Jubilee RML models. That day Arriva presented the Museum with Grey-Green Alexander bodied Volvo Citybus 115 (F115PHM), seen just in front of the RT. As will be seen RT4712 had received a purple band and other purple embellishments and gained an Arriva fleetname. Both buses appeared on an excursion to SHOWBUS international later in 2003. |
A slightly different view of RT4712 at Covent Garden.
