A coach attracting much attention at SHOWBUS in 2005 was this Volvo B12B with Caetano Enigma coachwork operated on behalf of Virgin Trains by National Express. NXVC3 (FH05URP) was purchased for a rail-link service linking Watford Junction Station with Heathrow Airport. These full sized coaches replaced the Plaxton Cheetah bodied Mercedes midicoaches used previously. |
Displaying its rear aspect, same coach on the same day is seen on stand in Heathrow's Coach Station. The VT98 route number is used for the Watford service. Alongside is another National Express coach in a slightly unusual NX livery for another rail-link service, this time to Woking. The Plaxton bodied B10M was new to Cambridge Coach Services as 322 (S322VNM). |
Not all Caetano Enigma coaches were in Virgin livery. Bournemouth Yellow Coaches, the National Express contractor from the south coast town, bought two Volvo B12B coaches with the Enigma body in 2006. This is the first of the pair 319-320 (FJ06GGE/F) seen at Victoria in June 2007. Dunn-Line, at least, was another contractor to use the model. |
