 Seen in York, WA, in 1997 this Australian Pacific Mercedes was operating an excursion to Wave Rock from Perth. York was one of the few settlements en route and served for the mid morning tea break. |
 An indication of the lack of development on the day trip out to Wave Rock was the "attraction" of the Dog Cemetry situated in the middle of nowhere. In the outback a farmer's dog does have a status - and, as the driver pointed out, the dog would get to sit in the front seat, while the wife would often be in the back! |

Definitely in Darwin in 1997 is this Merc in a hotel car park. Note the trailer for the extra equipment that it will need for outback tours.
