 Eastrans participated with Grenda in the provision of the first of Melbourne's Smartbus routes, which are long distance outer orbital services provided with real time displays at key stops, enhanced shelters and bus priorities. This Eastrans Mercedes O500LE, 121 (6160AO), is seen in Oakleigh on the 900 in April 2010. Having bought Volvo B12BLE, then Scania L94UB, the Mercedes O500LE found favour in 2006. There was a gap before Eastrans bought new buses again, in 2009 the Scania K230UB. Consistent throughout is the purchase of Volgren bodies. |
