La Trobe Street bridge over the railway lines at Southern Cross is a good vantage point for observing the bus and coach comings and goings. Optare Solo SR 105 (BS01PK) is seen leaving the station yard in January 2016. The bus, delivered on its own in September 2015, was later renumbered 41, not because of a transfer to the Gold Coast, but to reserve the 100 number block for the doubledeckers.

 Together on standby at Southern Cross in January 2017 are, from left to right Solos 39 (BS01DF), 42 (BS01DH) and 38 again. Both 39 and 42 joined 38 on the Gold Coast renumbered and re-registered 14 (874XSV) and 15 (231XSL), respectively.
