By late 2011 the Metrobus artic fleet was much in evidence across the city on the complete network of new M-prefixed routes. Volgren CR228L Volvo B12BLEA bodied in a new plant in Newcaste, 2066 (2066ST) is on the M40. With no more orders forthcoming, the Volgren Newcastle plants was shut down, but at least the buses were built in the state!

Seen two years later 2226 (2226ST), normally allocated to the M40 out of Waverley depot is seen doing a turn on the 333 leaving the city for Bondi Junction, Bondi Beach and North Bondi. The route is normally home to fleet liveried Volgren bodied Volvos artics.

Several more routes became Metrobus branded beyond the initial five. Some are operated by contractors other than State Transit. Out in Parramatta 2129 (2129ST) arrives on the M54 in April 2012.
