Stratford-upon-Avon City Sightseeing operations were in the hands of Ensignbus when they had control of the local Stratford Blue operation. However when they closed their operations in the town the operation passed to Stagecoach Midlands together with the tour franchise. Stagecoach Midlands soon replaced the fleet of largely MCW Metrobuses, initially with Volvo Olympians from within the Stagecoach empire and converted to open top. Northern Counties bodied 16538 (P538EFL) was new to Viscount and is believed to be one of the Olympians originally intended for London service but diverted to Cambridgeshire when crew disputes threatened their use in the capital. The bus is seen in Stratford in June 2013. |
