A closer view of the beautifully restored Bristol K5G. The highbridge model was quite a rarity - Bristol Omnibus and Brighton, Hove & District being the other notable major operators of the type. Most Tilling companies had operating areas bedevilled by lowbridges and thus the sunken gangway, four seats in a row on the top deck lowbridge model was much more widely used.

The following year the centenary of Bristol bus production was celebrated at SHOWBUS with this line up of half cabs in front of the American Air Museum. Alongside Eastern National open top KSW5G 2382 (WNO478) is the highbridge K5G 133 with equally high Lincolnshire K6A 2115 (DBE187) the other side of the 1939 Westcliffe K5G 825 (AJN825). |
