Black & White Plaxton Panorama Elite
The first iteration of National Express livery is seen on this Plaxton Panorama Elite, probably on a Leyland Leopard chassis, seen at Southend around 1980. The word "EXPRESS" has yet to make an appearance nor the large red fleetname over the front wheel arch advising the operating company. Initial names were in much small lettering underlined in an appropriate colour, in this case black for Black & White.
National Travel SW Leyland Leopard Willowbrook 125
Leaving Victoria Coach Station, with the larger red names, is Willowbrook bodied Leyland Leopard 125 (SAD125R).
NATIONAL EXPRESS
National Travel SW AEC Reliance Duple Dominant 155
Duple Dominant bodied AEC Reliance 155 (NDD155P) is seen with an attractive backdrop, followed by a Plaxton coach, which may or may not be part of the same fleet. Anyone recognise the location?
