Following on from the KMB ALX500 bodied Dennis Trident, which took part in the Golden Jubilee Gold Run at SHOWBUS 2002, our friends at KMB provided one of the stars of SHOWBUS international 2003. The Volvo Super Olympian B10TL with Northern Ireland built Wright bodywork has been dubbed "The Wrightbus" at KMB. The impressive vehicle is seen arriving amongst the early contingent at Duxford, having driven down from Volvo's at Warwick prior to its journey to the former Crown colony.

Here the bus is parked up on prominent display for show visitors where it attracted a lot of favourable attention. The bus was later displayed at the industry's Bus & Coach show.

To add to the Hong Kong flavour, New World First Bus Dennis Condor DM17, now preserved in the UK was parked nearby. The KMB decker won the prize for the best overseas entry, beating the competition from Germany, Holland and Miami, USA.

Relatively few new vehicles entered service in Hong Kong in 2004. However in 2005 a batch of Volvo's new Super Olympian replacement, the B9TL was ordered by KMB. Bodywork was again to the Wrighbus Eclipse Gemini style and this picture at the Ballymena factory comes courtesy of Wrightbus.
