Reesby Buses was started in Turangi by David Reesby in 1974, but was shortlived. In 1980 Reesby restarted in Rotorua as a tour and charter operator and began operating the CityRide services in town in 2004 after winning the contract from Ritchies. In August 2015, it was acquired by Brian Souter’s InMotion Group who sold it to Ritchies in 2019 as Souter sold off most of his New Zealand operations.

Seven years on and Reesby has become a bus operator too, but the coach side of the business continues. Seen close to where 64 was in 2000 is a rare combination, 73 (ZR8239) is a 2001 Designline bodied Freighter XB. The coach was sold on to Abbots Holdings in Auckland.
