New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula is beautiful and the small town of Coromandel is pretty itself. It was also home to one of the few schools and bus companies on the Peninsula. An amazing site in April 2005 was this faithful Bedford of Strongman Coachlines arriving in the town on an early morning school run. |

The Bedford CDJ1 with Hawke body, JQ1591, is seen a short time later resting in the depot in Strongman Road. The chassis was new in 1980 and was with Charles Dobson of Rolleston, near Christchurch by 1990. It arrived on the Peninsula by 1998. Amazingly it was sold on to Hobbs in Hamilton in 2007. |
