In 2009 King County Metro introduced a new RapidRide concept and a new red colour to top the buses. Twenty DE60LFA started the A line, a BRT version of the DE60LF but superceded by the similar looking DE60LFR of which this, 6094, is an example bought in 2013 for Lines E and F though is on use on Line D climbing one of the city's steep hills on which the trolleybuses excel.

New Flyer DE60LFR models joined the fleet on normal route work from 2010 and 6890 is one of that first match of over fifty delivered.

Heading Uptown on Line D just north of the city centre in October 2014 is DE60LFR 6051 of 2011, one of 34 bought for Lines C & D preceded by 16 also that year for Line B.

In 2012 65 non RapidRide DE60LFR like 6945 joined the fleet. It is seen on the 66 Eastlake Express.

Only 38 DE60LF were delivered in 2008, of which 6840 is one. A final batch of only 15 followed in 2009 before the change to the sleaker DE60LFR model.
