A small patch of High Wycombe's High Street is pedestrianised with access granted only to buses. Here First Berkshire's Wright bodied Scania L94UB 65725 (LK55ACF) is about to enter the having descended Castle Street. What is a short cut from one side of the town centre to the other is too tempting for several motorists who ignore the No Entry signs, but do not drive through the pedestrianised area with the same care as the bus drivers and nor do their vehicles command the same presence. The Scania has route branding for the X74 service which competes with Arriva's 74 between High Wycombe and Slough. The companies used to compete on the 74 until First saw a market for a premier service by using the M40 to bypass Beaconsfield and offer a quicker service, usually with superior vehicles.
