Arriva Shires Optare Excel 3002
The Shires had a few Optare Excels through company acquisitions, but never bought any new. This one came with the takeover of MK Metro and is seen redeployed in September 2014, in Watford where earlier acquired Excels had operated. Now 3002 (V392KVY) the bus was new to Claribel in Birmingham and was one of the many selected secondhand buys that were a feature of the MK Metro fleet under Julian Peddle's ownership. They were actually acquired third hand after a brief spell with Ogdens of St Helens.

This one, 0448 (Y48HBT), was entered by the Council when new at SHOWBUS 2001. The vehicle was later sold to Lugg Valley in Leominster.
