Yet another make of bodywork, this time Leicestershire Coach Builders on this 709D in Hemel. The vehicle originated with Midland Fox this time, 2088 (L328AUT). The bus bears the Glade Valley branding used for Hemel area services. It later became the fictional Hotten Line local bus in the TV series Emmerdale. A picture of it in that livery is in the "sold" section of the Shires gallery.

A pair of Beaver 2 bodied Mercedes of the batch that ended up delivered in a mix of Shires and Arriva liveries. The one on the left is route branded for Hemel town services. The Mercedes used thereon were ousted by Dennis Dart MPDs at the turn of the century.

Not all Mercs at Hemel were replaced by MPD Darts, some were supplanted by a batch transferred from Arriva Yorkshire - such as 2242 (R762DUB) in Arriva colours.
