Ex Eastbourne Buses Optare Spectra 711
At the end of 2001 Eastbourne and Reading agreed to swap buses. The former required more singledeckers and the latter doubles. So several Eastbourne Spectras joined the native Spectra fleet in Reading, whilst Reading Optare Excels - new to Cardiff Buses - headed south to the seaside. Here former Eastbourne 79 (S879BYJ) is seen hard at work in its new town as 711.

Eastbourne 76 (S876BYJ) became Reading 708. Unusually it is seen at Wycombe Railawy Station in summer 2005 on hire to Carousel Buses. Carousel had the contract to operate replacement bus services following the Gerrards Cross Tesco tunnel collapse, which meant the main line to Marylebone was closed after a new Tesco store being built over the tracks by the station collapsed. From Wycombe passengers were ferried to Amersham to use Chiltern Trains alternative line into Marylebone.
