London United acquired the lucrative AIRBUS operation with their share of LT operations. One of the fleet of highly expensive Alexander Royale Olympians complete with air conditioning and ample luggage space, N123UHP prowls around the terminals in search of passengers for Central London.

In their final years as Airbuses, the fleet of Alexander Royale Olympians had a jumbo jet perilously close to Big Ben emblazoned on their sides. This example is seen in central London in October 2003.

Olympian N122UHP is seen in similar garb at Heathrow in January 2002.

An unusual role has been found for some of the early Carlyle/Duple bodied small Dennis Darts. Airbus Direct gave personal service to individual central London hotels. Two are seen here - DT26 (G526VYE) nearest the camera - depositing passengers at Heathrow's Terminal 3.

Straford Blue 529 (G29TGW), another Carlyle bodied Dennis Dart new to London Buses as DT29 was, like DT26, fitted with air conditioning and reduced seating for Airbus Direct. It is seen in Stratford on Avon where it was used on local excursions. It arrived with Straford Blue from the defunct Phoenix Student Travel operation in Essex and had appeared at SHOWBUS in Golden Jubilee livery in 2002. This picture was taken in July 2004. |
