Connex started its first London tendered service with a batch of Alexander ALX400 Dennis Tridents on the 3 route, taken over from London Central. This had been the Optare Spectra route and resulted in these vehicles being transferred to fellow Go-Ahead subsidiary, Go-Northern. Here is TA15 (V315KGW) approaching Trafalgar Square.

A small batch of further ALX Tridents has been delivered in 2001 for more tendered work, including the 405 route. TA38 (Y38HWB) is seen at the Cobham Rally in April.
