The bus side of the Harris Coach company expanded considerably with a distinctive livery and a fleet of modern vehicles on London Transport services, however in 2000, the company faced financial problems and London Transport ended up taking the routes over, trading as East Thames Buses.

Seen when newly into service are samples of the mixed fleet of East Lancs Pyoneer bodied Olympians and Northern Counties bodied DAF DB250 doubledeckers.
