BEA Routemaster NMY637E
Seen in its original colours - rather uninspiring grey and white - is NMY637E, complete with baggage trailer at Heathrow Airport. Special dispensation had to be obtained from the Ministry of Transport for these buses to tow luggage trailers.

Many years later, NMY637E is seen in the vicinity of the Tower of London in Summer 2007 by which time it had been in the ownership of International Coach Lines for nearly ten years. The company specialise in Routemaster hire.

British Airways Routemaster NMY645E
Back in the late seventies/early eighties London Transport operated several staff buses from the surrounding area to the overhaul works at Aldenham. Red Rover of Aylesbury rented an overnight parking space to LT for what was normally a BEL liveried RML, but on this occasion RMA22 was in Aylesbury. It is alongside one of Red Rover's five ex Nottingham Renowns. After use by BEL the RMA was used on the London Sightseeing Tour and in the mid nineties exported for sightseeing work to J.J.Kavanagh in Kilkenny in southern Ireland.

Seen at Showbus in 2008 is RMA1 (KGJ621D). The bus acquired the RMA1 fleetnumber when it was acquired by LT from BA in 1975 and pressed into service on the 175 bus route with other members of the batch.

Many will think of this bus as RMA1. BEA Routemaster KGJ601D was the first of the batch of 65 airport Routemasters, but BEA did not classify them. Some became RMAs when acquired by LT, as KGJ621D above. KGJ601D is seen arriving at SHOWBUS in 2009. Now preserved, it is not wearing its original livery but the second of the three used by BEA before the BOAC merger.
