But all is not over! RM1941 (ALD941B) was one of the fleet of Routemasters put together by Ken Livingstone shortly after being elected Mayor of London. The buses, sourced from all over the country, were refurbished at great expense by Marshalls at Cambridge. They heralded an increase in crew operation but tnis was short lived. These expensive Routemasters are now amongst the survivors on the two Heritage Routes, though some are now back in preservation. The 15 is operated by Stagecoach and RM1218 is seen on it approaching the Aldwych in August 2006.
