St Helens was famous for its fleet of London style RT AEC Regent 3RT buses. The Park Royal bodied vehicles were delivered new to St Helens. Preserved at the Scottish Bus Museum is former D67 (BDJ67), seen on display alongside an ex Southdown open top Bristol VR at the 2014 Open Day in August.

The RT was used on the site shuttle service and is seen here at the opposite end of the museum where a large collection of madder and white Edinburgh buses were gathered. Note the reverse use of the via and number destination display screens compared to London, doubtless to facilitate the use of three track number blinds.

Also at Lathalmond in August 2014 was this former Wallasey Corporation Leyland Titan TD7, 74 (HF9126). The chassis was originally as a doubledecker by Metro-Cammell in 1940. Twelve years later it was converted to a Police Mobile Control Unit for the local force, and subsequently has been converted into a family caravan with a family believed to be based in South West England.
