North Western Dennis Dominator East Lancs
The original North Western Road Car was hung drawn and quartered in 1972 as the bulk of its operations passed to the Manchester PTE (SELNEC), and another substantial chunk to Crosville. The operational company ceased to exist. In 1986, as privatisation loomed, the name was revived for a new company to take over the some of Ribble's southern operations. The area did not coincide with the original company but the full North Western Road Car name was adopted with a striking red and blue livery. In the new company's early years a brand new East lancs bodied Dennis Dominator made an appearance at SHOWBUS at Woburn Abbey.

M180YKA North Western some ten plus years later in 2000. The livery has added some yellow and the ownership has passed via Drawlane and British Bus to Arriva. 1180 (M180YKA) is a fairly standard 40 seat Plaxton bodied Dennis Dart, seen here leaving Warrington Bus Station, devoid of fleetnames.

NW National Nearing what must be close to the end of its days in Liverpool, June 2000, is a Mark 1 Leyland National still bearing the old British Bus NW livery, but sporting an Arriva sticker on the front. A Merseyside London Titan and Northern Counties singledecker linger behind.
