West Midlands PTE 6757 (SDA757S) made its SHOWBUS debut in 2005. The bus is an East Lancs
bodied Leyland Fleetline, seen here leaving after the event. More recent Fleetline deliveries
had MCW bodywork, but it is thought that the East Lancs bodied order was originally placed by
Coventry before their fleet was absorbed into WMPTE. |

The Walsall Corporation fleet was absorbed into WMPTE at its inception in 1974. 116 (XDH516G)
was one of their quirky Northern Counties bodied Damler Fleetlines. It is seen alongside
6757 above and 6971 (WDA971T) a standard MCW bodied Fleetline for WMPTE.

After many years WMPTE's successfor, National Express owned TWM, has given Coventry its own
Travel Coventry identity. TWM red has been replaced by pale blue, rather than hark back to the
old maroon and cream of Coventry City Transport. Dennis Trident 4205 (Y812TOH) with Alexander
ALX400 is seen alongside Mark 2 MCW Metrobus 2868 (B868DOM). On the left is Premier Line
Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 4680 (BX54XPN) which uses the same shade of blue in its
dedicated route 997 livery.

TWM 4680 arrives at SHOWBUS displaying its Premier Line 997 livery between Walsall and Birmingham.
The fleet of 997 Eclipse Gemini vehicles is coach seated.

  |
A minute or two before the above shot and 680 can be seen following the oldest bus into the
rally, David Whitaker's Provincial AEC Regal 4.
