Reading has undergone a dramatic change of image with route branding using a variety of secondary colours, boldly applied, as with the pink on 828 (MRD1). The image change has also involved massive fleet changes involving Scania double and singledeckers. 828 has gained the registration once worn on the Mayor's Rolls Royce, but more recently on Reading's first Optare Spectra, 701.
