Routemasters and RTs of all colours and sizes descend on Duxford annually. For a change a they occupied a different area of the site than hitherto.

London Transport pre war RT113
For those not fond of the iconic Routemaster the tank outside the Land Warfare Hall presented an interesting opportunity.

In the last version of London Country livery before NBC green and white came along, RML2332 is squarely in the tank's sites!

RM1138 is restored as new in London Transport early sixties colours.

In 1966 BEA started to acquire a fleet of forward entrance Routemasters for its service between the West London Airport terminal and Heathrow. The buses replaced special AEC Regal IVs with huge luggage lockers under the raised rear seating. The Routemasters had to tow luggage trailers. The buses were operated by London Transport on behalf of BEA. KGJ601D was the first of the fleet, but is preserved in its second livery where turquoise has replaced grey.
