Six years ago, Wycombe based independent Carousel Buses caused something of a stir when they started an express service, the A40, between their home town and Heathrow Airport. The stir was focused on the three silver Mercedes Citaros purchased, MB51-53 (CB51-3CBS). The service has been surprisingly successful as it sticks rigidly to the A40 road between Wycombe and Uxbridge, without diverting to more directly serve some of the towns on route. Patronage has built and continued support from BAA and Bucks County Council has given the company the impetus to relaunch the service together with an A30 variant linking Amersham and Chesham into the Heathrow network. The three pioneer vehicles have now been painted into Carousel's London red livery and remarketed as Link.
