Edinburgh loves its Alexander bodied Atlanteans, particularly if they sport the panoramic windows found on
this 1967 example, which has somewhat strangely lost its roof. Strange indeed, as most topless
Atlanteans in Edinburgh wore a livery dedicated to their sightseeing tour role. Edinburgh 900
(JSC900E) appeared at Showbus 97, but these shots were taken elsewhere - even Showbus
hasn't seen snow - yet! |

Top Alexander bodied preserved bus at EFE Showbus 1999 was ex Edinburgh 833, a Leyland Titan,
sadly the Atlantean destined to keep it company did not make it, though there was the Lothian
Trident at the other end of the site.

Two PD3s at Showbus 80 at Thorpe Park. On the left is Delaine's 1959 fleet number 50, now preserved by
the company and bearing rare Yeates bodywork. Alongside a more familiar combination, a PD3 with
Alexander bodywork, formerly with Edinburgh City Transport and of a type familiar to the fleet, but not
when new in 1957. 999 (PWS999) followed the following year, but otherwise deliveries were of 50 PD2s
in 64 until more PD3s in 66. The grill is 'St Helens' style, but not quite.

Edinburgh Olympians are proving popular secondhand purchases on the school bus circuit. Former
707 (A707YFS) is seen at EFE SHOWBUS International 2001 in the recent care of Reids of
Bedford, where it appears to have acquired fleet number 1.

Fellow Olympian 669 (OFS669Y) is seen with one of the local Aylesbury operators, about to pick up
at the Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School.
