 The influx of large numbers of minibuses into the Devon fleet in the early eighties saw many quite new Devon General Bristol VRTSL3 buses redeployed across the country. This example is freshly painted in Stagecoach colours for United Counties. These are the early days of Stagecoach and before the first stylised fleetname echoing the map of Scotland was introduced. Hence the United Counties fleetname is a version of the one to be seen on the green VR alongside. |
A long way from home. Former Devon General ECW bodied Bristol LH6L 105 (VDV105S) dates from the time when Devon General was part of Western National, is seen in the Stockport Daw Bank garage and in the ownership of associate fleet Stagecoach Manchester. It is well suited to its new task in life - a driver training unit.

Courtesy of Norfolk Green, its new owner, is this picture of VRTSL3 1235 (LJF882W), which, though originally with Devon General, came to Norfolk Green as 502 via United Counties (741) and Ribble before that.

 Undoubtedly one of the most popular buses at SHOWBUS in 2015 at Woburn Abbey was the Drinks Bus! Arriving at the event is former Devon General open top ECW bodied Bristol VRTSL3 935 (VDV135S). The top deck was a great place to have a drink and view the display.

 Big Bus VRTSL3 seen in Philadelphia in August 2017 was 310, former Devon General 1237 (LFJ884W). The bus transferred on to Ribble and its subsidiaries until 2001. It crossed the Atlantic to work for the Blackstone Tourism Council on Rhode Island, heading on to Philadelphia in 2005.
