Derby Dennis Dominator Marshall 104
Another Marshall bodied doubledecker seen in the depot in the early eighties was Dennis Dominator 104 (GTO104V), one of a batch of three. Derby had taken examples of the Foden-NC (101) and MCW Metrobus (102), followed by Olympians and more Dominators, but it was the Ailsa that found favour initially, giving way to the underfloor engines Citybus.

Derby City Transport Volvo Citybus Northern Counties 153
With privatisation Derby City Transport became an employee owned company with support from employee owned Luton & District in 1989. Both became part of British Bus eventually morphing into Arriva and Derby's operations are now subsumed into what has beome Arriva Midlands. The last doubledecker delivered to Derby before privatisation was 153 (E153BTO), a 1988 Northern Counties bodied Volvo Citybus, part of a batch of five. Final deliveries after these Volvos were Alexander PS bodied Scanias 21-28 which made it into Arriva livery. The final Citybus is now preserved and is seen arriving for SHOWBUS international 2017 at Donington.
