There are many Optare Solos operating across the Stagecoach empire, but the first entered service in Leamington with Stagecoach Midland Red in late 2001. This is 47001 (KX51CRV) which was new with fleet number 602. The marketing department made great play of the difference between the Solos and the conventional fleet when the buses were first introduced.
Solo 47004 (KX51CTU) affords a nearside view as it heads in the opposite direction through Leamington.
Solo 47013 (KX51CTO) negotiates the hump in the middle of the roundabout and associated humps with zebra crossings as it passes the Royal Pump Rooms.
Solo 47008 (KX51CSY) heads for Warwick on the 66.
The large rear surface serves for schematic route diagram for the Solo services. Heading in the opposite direction is one of the newer Solos now used by Johnsons of Henley in Arden in the Stratford - Leamington area.
