The Wycombe 400 service arose out of a requirement to serve an annex of Bucks College at Flackwell Heath and for some years was operated by Chiltern Rover doubledeckers. The service has become used by the public and extended to serve the Sports Centre as shown here with non capacity journeys provided by smaller vehicles. For a while the service was split between operators allowing minibus operator Magpie Travel the opportunity to run this ex Thames Transit Merc on the route. In 2001/2002 the service passed to Carousel and saw operation by London red Metrobuses before becoming the purple route in Wycombe's rainbow network and forsaking the sports centre as well as swapping Metrobuses for Dennis Darts.
