Dysons Volvo B7RLE Volgren CR228L 1000
In its 65th year Dysons acquired what looks like its 1000th vehicle. The company, founded in 1952 has always numbered its vehicles sequentially, many acquired, like 1000 (2055AO) through acquisition of other companies. In this instance Shepparton Transit in June last year, this Volgren CR228L bodied Volvo B7RLE was their number 9. The vehicle was photographed today at the Shepparton depot on the occasion of a visit by members of the Bus & Coach Society of Victoria who were hosted by a fourth generation member of the Dyson family. Since the takeover all members of the Shepparton fleet have been repained in Dysons' livery, though full livery has only been bestowed on around half the acquisitions, the rest, the older vehicles, have been reduced to plain white with blue Dysons fleetnames. Around half a dozen buses have been sold, and, as often with acquisitions, they are allocated fleet numbers but did not necessarily turn a wheel after that. Nonetheless this bus represents a remarkable achievement for the family firm.
