Carousel Alexander Dennis Enviro200 502 County Rider
In rural areas there are a few once a week services, or services restricted to a few days a week but Carousel Buses' 582 is a weekly service only on Saturdays. The bus waited on its way back to Denham from Windsor yesterday at the McDonalds between Eton and Slough and the Windsor - Eton relief road is just visible behind. The small Alexander Dennis Enviro200, 502 (OU57FGV), was new to sister Go-Ahead subsidiary Thames Travel and is in Buckinghamshire County Rider livery for some of the county's supported services. Red Eagle had a Dart painted in a much brighter green and Z&S an Optare Spectra. Enviro200 502 is thought to be the only survivor. The origin of the 582 is curious: quite why Denham needed a link to Windsor when it is closer to Uxbridge and Slough, as shopping centres is a mystery. The 582 does of course link it to Slough. Carousel Buses will be operating another "blue moon" service on September 29th as their Sunday 1A will be extended from Hemel Hempstead to the Showbus Display at the Hertfordshire County Showground linking Hemel, Chesham, Amersham and High Wycombe to Showbus. It will be one of four special bus services operating just on that day. Full details are available here.
