Australia Wide Bustech CDi 124 Gray Line
Seen on Wednesday at the Gray Line departure point behind Sydney's Aquarium in Wheat Road, Darling Harbour is the unique coach seated Bustech CDi doubledecker used by local Gray Line agent Australia Wide Coaches. The vehicle, 124 (TV7730), was new in April 2016 and is regularly used on the day trip to the Blue Mountains, as seen here though in Christmas week had taken a full load on a day trip to Canberra. Blue Mountains is one of the most popular day trips from Sydney and an Irizar Century Scania was headed there too on Wednesday from Wheat Road, but other Gray line tours depart rom other points. Wheat Road nestles in a maze of fast roads on multiple levels funneling traffic into the CBD, but four or five large bays have been provided between the flyover supports under the Western Distributor which are used by Australian Wide between 0745h and 0800h for their tour pick ups, no less than six coaches were there on Wednesday, four Irizar bodied Scanias, the Bustech and a midi sized Yutong, which was off to the Hunter Valley. Thanks to Gary Driver of Driver Bus Lines and Richard Dawes of Australia Wide Coaches for help in locating the Bustech. It does not return to the city as passengers are dropped at Homebush Park for a cruise back to Darling Harbour as a pleasant end to their day out and the bus heads for the depot, avoiding the worst of the city traffic.
