Carbridge Iveco Optare Bonito 90
Perhaps a little strange to see my first example of a British product 12000 miles (or 170000km) away from home but it achieved no sales in the UK. The Optare Bonito was built in collaboration with the Dutch company Plastisol from 2012 and is based on the Iveco Ducato Maxi. An earlier Bonito minibus was produced by Optare based on the Ford Transit. Production of the Iveco Bonito ceased in 2014, but Plastisol is working with a new partner Composite Mobility and marketing the minibus as the CM Mission. This example came to Australia as a demonstrator in 2015 and has joined the fleet of Carbridge, a company that specialises in airport work with operations at most of Australia's international airports. The bus has been numbered 90 and as it is used airside is unregistered. It is seen in Carbridge's Sydney airport compound where it was in the company of purpose built megabuses used to transport plane loads of passengers between aircraft and terminal buildings. Also in the compound were a pair of Optare Solos believed to have been acquired from defunct Webberbus in the UK.
