The SHOWBUS brochure is slowly taking shape and two articles on forty years of the MCW Metrobus and 110 of Bristol chassis building are finished, the third of British Leyland's 50th anniversary needs to be illustrtated. Trawling through the SHOWBUS picture files this image popped up a little too late to be included in the Bristol feature, though if there is a spare corner in the brochure it might make it into print. It depicts a Bristol VR chassis oustide the now closed Brislington plant, probably sometime in the seventies. Most Bristol chasis were driven like this across country to Lowestoft where ECW bodied them. Many made that journey before the advent of the motorways and the drivers were "protected" by goggles and all weather apparel!
