EFE SHOWBUS International Rally 2002 will feature many attractions.
Site opens at 8.00 am.
The GOLD RUN - to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II there
will be a parade of gold liveried buses from Cambridge to Duxford. The buses will process through the
site and display with First buses at the new display venue by Hangar 1.
VIEWING ENCLOSURE - for safety and ease, the area by the main bus gate will be fenced
off allowing spectators to photograph and view entrants as they arrive. This includes a bank offering
a 'grandstand' view.
ON SITE BUS - with the 2002 rally literally spreading from one end of the mammoth Duxford
site to the other, there will be a free low floor shuttle bus running the length of the site between
midday and 4.30pm, buses provided by First in Manchester.
WHITTLESFORD CONNECTION - a bus service linking Whittlesford WAGN trains
Station with the Museum and Showbus, click here for the times,
with buses provided by Hedingham Omnibus.
THE BUS STATION - will be the area immediately in front opposite the
American Air Museum, which will be the Bus Station for vehicles coming and going on the
Duxford Village Tours throughout the afternoon.
For youngsters there will be an opportunity to ride on two miniature buses at the east end of the Duxford site.
One is a model Southdown Queen Mary PD3 the other a Guy Arab.
How much? £8 for adults, £6 for senior citizens, £4 for other concessions and FREE for
under 16s. Group rates are available from the Museum. Further information is on their website.
