The first of Melbourne's Skybus new doubledeckers for the express link between Southern Cross Station and Tullamarine Airport was 101 (BS01LS). It arrived in July 2015 and is seen at Tullamarine in October that year. The delivery of the Australian built Bustech CDi ended speculation that the buses might be Optare Metrodeckers, following on from the recent Solo SR deliveries. Four Bustechs were used on the service initially and more followed. Huge luggage space means seating for only 10 downstairs, but a massive 53 upstairs, comparable to the seating capacity of the service's articulated buses which were displaced to Metro in Tasmania.

The third Bustech, 103 (BS01LU) was seen at the airport the same day boasting its size on the rear upper deck window. It has become practice to display the fleet number in the rear digital desto display.
