Wynyard Bus Stops
In a retrograde step Transport for New South Wales has decided to replace the worldwide accepted symbol for a bus with the letter B. Bearing in mind that Sydney is host to many international visitors for whom the obvious letter to denote a bus would not be B, many languagees have words beginning with A (autobus) or O (related to omnibus). So this sign outside Wynyward Station is labelled B and lists departure bays for the various services in the vicinity. Sadly lacking is a map to help the traveller kow which direction each bus might be going if they are unfamiliar with the city's suburbs. Just to confuse further is another B sign behind. This has nothing to do with the new B icon for buses, but denotes Bus Stand B!

Sydney Bus Stops
Just to add to the confusion, whilst B is for Buses, T is for Trains, L for Light Rail and F for Ferries. So T is not for Tram or Taxi and B is not for Boat. This picture shows two Bs and a T. In this case T is not for Train, but is Bus Stand B. The red B is a parking restriction for non bus traffic and the B in a circle denotes a bus stop!
