On closer inspection these red Routemasters are not all they seem, their logos and destination blinds baring subtle differences from their London heritage. Operated by Greater Manchester Buses on the 143 route, CUV 200C, fleet number RM2200 is heading for Piccadilly as advertised on its sides and front.

With deregulation the classic Greater Manchester buses dispersed and began to appear in a variety of liveries and colours. G.M. Buses initially operated these buses in their existing colours prior to adopting a new company livery. Registration number UNA 796S, fleet number 7796, operates route 210 to Piccadilly via Belle Vue, Denton and Hyde.

This new combination of the Bedford TK with the short dropside body looks good in the bright orange colours of G.M. Buses. Complementing the other models in this fleet, OBN 143M was often used to tow disabled buses and carries a crate of spare parts.

The first release of our new G.M. Fleetline captures this very elegant but short·lived livery operated by G. M. Buses South. Fleet number 4043 registered ANA 43T is working service 10A to Birkenhead at a flat rate of £1 as displayed in the front windscreen.
