United Automobile Services Limited was registered in April 1912 operating from offices in London. Under control of its founder Ernest Boyd Hutchinson, United operated services in East Anglia and County Durham rapidly expanding until 1929 when it was jointly purchased by Tilling-BAT and LNER. Retaining its character through Nationalisation, United remains a popular fleet for many collectors.
