ETS CanCar trolley 189 & 195
ETS had a fleet of 100 trolleys like 189 and 195 seen here enjoying their summer holiday resting in the depot during August 2007: reduced peak demand meant the trolley system coud be effectively switched off to save money. The trolleys date from 1981/82 and the running gear at least was from Asea Brown Boveri in Switzerland, their model HR150G. The bodywork was by General Motors.

It looks like the downtime is used to give the trolleys the once over with 181 held aloft on hoists.

This view from New Flyer D40LF 4232 shows a section of road with two sets of trolley wires in both directions. This unusual trolley system feature enabled trolleybuses to perform the hitherto impossible feat of overtaking one another!

Coast Mountain Bus New Flyer E40LFR trolley 2247 on loan to Edmonton as 6000
In the summer of 2007 ETS had borrowed brand new Coast Mountain Bus 2247 to test on its system, with a view to replacing its ageing trolley. The New Flyer E40LFR is seen in the ETS depot that August, out of service with the rest of the trolley fleet. Temporary fleet number 6000 was issued to 2247. Sadly it failed to impress and shortly after the decision was taken to replace the trolley fleet with cheaper hybrid diesels.
