Two PD3s at Showbus 80 at Thorpe Park. On the left is Delaine's 1959 fleet number 50, now preserved by the company and bearing rare Yeates bodywork. Alongside a more familiar combination, a PD3 with Alexander bodywork, formerly with Edinburgh City Transport and of a type familiar to the fleet, but not when new in 1957. 999 (PWS999) followed the following year, but otherwise deliveries were of 50 PD2s in 64 until more PD3s in 66. The grill is 'St Helens' style, but not quite. |
